Christmas is PEACE...

Children's art to share the gift of peace

"Huge congratulations and many thanks to the 400+ very talented children from St Thomas's and St Philip Neri Catholic Schools in Sydney's Lower North Shore, and St Charles School in Borromeo who entered our LETS Christmas Card Competition 2016," says LETS Chairperson, Georgina Loughnan. "You are really living the true spirit of Christmas by using your creative talents to help share the gift of peace between the people of our parishes and our friends in Letefoho."

"You also gave our judging panel an incredibly difficult task in trying to decide who the winners should be! So whose beautiful illustrations were chosen to be printed on our LETS Christmas cards 2016?"

"Congratulations to Lauren M, aged 12, from St Philip Neri for her beautiful PEACE nativity scene; Dominique D, aged 10, from St Thomas's School for her dove of peace; and Mackenzie T, aged 9, from St Charles for a wonderful 'Merry Christmas' peace candle. The children's stunning illustrations have been printed on our 2016 Christmas cards which will be sold to raise vital funds to support the developing community of Letefoho in Timor Leste," Georgina adds.

"Well done and thank you to all the children who entered this year's competition. We were very pleased to have St Charles School in Ryde join us in supporting the Letefoho Parish this year." says Georgina.

Hear-hear also to our Highly Commended award winners - Kia-Louise B, aged 11 and Ellie G, aged 11, from St Philip Neri School; John C, aged 9, and Hanna Louise, aged 11, from St Thomas's School; and Michael D from St Charles.

The Christmas cards are on sale, together with the PEACE Christmas CD at all weekend masses across the Catholic Parish of the Lower North Shore in Sydney until 11 December.
