In December 2013, we received a letter from Taur Matan Ruak, the President of Timor Leste, congratulating us on our efforts to help people in the poorer regions of his country. The President also asked for our help in addressing literacy issues in regional areas. He specifically requested that we collect English language books and ship them to his Office for use in his reading program.
Thanks to the generosity of so many donors, we have now shipped close to 3,000 books for primary and secondary students. These include picture books - either educational or story-books - and easy-reading children's novels. Thanks to our good friends at Schenker P/L and Rotary for their help in shipping the books.
