A huge "Congratulations" to Geoff Gemmell, who completed the 72km walk from Dili to Letefoho, Timor Leste!

Geoff is an avid walker and bell ringer, who walked to raise funds for the community of Letefoho. He has raised $25,000 to contribute to 1) the wages of the teachers at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Senior High School in Letefoho 2) the belltower for the new chapel in Eraulo, a village of Letefoho that is central to the district.

The road is sealed only halfway. It is busy, dusty, hot and humid and almost all uphill!

Geoff accomplished a difficult task with the support of Maxi from Letefoho and the East Timorese people he met along the way.

He arrived to a huge village welcome and just in time for Mass on Sunday morning.

If you would like to contribute to Geoffs walk please donate through the LETS.

How much of my money goes to the cause?

Everyone who works for LETS is a volunteer. We receive no benefit other than the joy of knowing that our projects make such a difference. It makes a world of difference to these remarkable people of Letefoho. They are so capable of doing so much with so little! Aside from a very small amount of money which goes to unavoidable fees to third party service providers (such as online payments fees), all money donated goes directly, 100%, to the cause.
